General Atomics is a diversified technologies company that includes the General Atomics Energy Group, which is a pioneering force in the push to develop fusion for energy production. Join us for a tour of the DIII-D National Fusion Facility operated by General Atomics on behalf of the US Department of Energy to learn about efforts to solve the key science and technology challenges to unlocking the potential of fusion energy. The tour will also highlight the many systems and roles that go into running a nuclear fusion facility and cutting-edge research program. Our team of expert engineers, scientists, and technicians provide expertise across a diverse array of STEM fields – there is room for everyone in fusion! Mentorship Program Orientation: How to Make the Most of Your Mentorship Program

The UCSD Physical Sciences Mentorship Program pairs students with mentors who will share their real-world experiences and assist the students as they prepare to make the transition from college to career. This workshop will share tips and tricks on how to make the most out of the mentorship program and will include topics such as expectation setting, the mentor/mentee relationship as well as various suggestions to make the process successful for both the mentee and the mentor!

This workshop is led by Troy Troxler


Troy Troxler is the Vice President of Operations at FreshForm, a design and innovation consultancy in San Diego. With extensive experience in operations, finance, strategic business analysis, and systems design, Troy oversees the day-to-day operations while guiding the company’s strategy using data-driven insights. His career spans roles at aRes Travel, SiteLab Interactive, and LandAmerica, among others, with expertise in client services, marketing, and technical product management. Troy holds a B.A. in Mathematics-Computer Science from UC San Diego. Revelle College - 1996.
