School of Physical Sciences Cohort Program
The Cohort Program is a group experience for students to work together as a community, build foundational knowledge, and launch successful careers in STEM. The cohort takes chemistry, math, and physics courses together, and continues to take courses together throughout the first two years. Students receive mentorship from experienced peers, in addition to professional guidance from faculty and staff.
EXPAND Mentorship Program
The EXPAND (EXperiential Projects for Accelerated Networking and Development) mentorship program provides undergraduate students with a choice of experiential projects, each of which has been designed by a graduate or postdoc student mentor to develop industry-relevant skills.
Professional Mentorship Program
The UC San Diego Physical Sciences Mentorship Program provides one-on-mentoring intended for undergraduate and graduate students by professionals from industry, government agencies, and education backgrounds as mentors to support students in navigating the job search process.
T-REx
The Transfer Research Experience (T-REx) program for incoming transfer students offers a 4-week program in the summer before the first enrolled quarter where students work in a research group in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry side-by-side with other undergraduates, graduate students, and postdocs.
Summer Program for Undergraduate Research in Science (SPURS)
The Summer Program for Undergrad Research in Science (SPURS) provides funding for UC San Diego undergraduates majoring in the physical sciences (astronomy & astrophysics, chemistry & biochemistry, mathematics, physics) to conduct a summer research project under the guidance of a UC San Diego faculty member.
